Star Wars Episode XVI - Paths of Chaos

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.

Jedi Councils & Demanding Droids

Dash, Avery, Thorn, and Arani competed against one another in a song and dance competition on Drum and Beat’s ship to try and decide what should happen to the presumed Sith and his ship. Dash pulled off a close victory by impressing the two holonet sensations and so it was decided to board the ship and destroy those aboard.

After a scuffle between a presumed Sith named Nacond Cairnu and dark force users, the group emerged triumphant. Inspecting the cargo crate that was stolen from the Action VI Transport, they found a Cyb, a deadly race created by the ancient Dia’Ven. Knowing that such a creature could bring a plague to the galaxy, they decided to leave it alone.

After some debate on what to do, it was decided to send the ship into the nearest star to dispose of the Cyb safely. No answers as to how it got out of its quarantined area were found.

Once it was on its journey, a course was set for The Unnamed Station. The group arrived without incident this time, and found they’d been summoned to the War Room where the Jedi Council and the Alliance of Free Worlds were meeting.

After some brief introductions, and a lot of arguing among Riiga and and the others about how best to proceed with the war against the Sith, a black B1 Battle Droid waltzed into the War Room, completely armed. After some awkward negotiations, it was decided that the party would travel with the droid in search of a mysterious ship where the droids ambassador and leader had disappeared to.

Furthermore, the droid, nicknamed by Thorn as Rust Bucket, said he was in search of artifacts left by the god of droids Ginix in order to save his homeworld Droid. Because of a message from Aza indicating that the group could be trusted, Grand Admiral Rebelrouser gave them his consent, much to the annoyance of Riiga who seems to not trust Aza.

After some wheeling and dealing, the party managed to secure a Ghtroc Industry Class 720 Freighter. The group geared up and got on board, accompanied by Rust Bucket and headed for the last known location of the mysterious ship, which was dangerously close to a void scar left over from the War of the Ancients. Finding wreckage of a droid and one other unknown ship, our group heads closer to the mysterious ship which journey’s ever close to the void…

Will the group be able to find out what’s on board the ship?
Is Rust Bucket really seeking artifacts and his lost leader or does he have another hidden motive?
What artifacts of the ancients are onboard?
What will happen in the war against the Sith?
Will Thorn ever learn to make friends?

Mystery Ship & Missing Leg

Dash, Avery, Arani, and Thorn sent a communication to the mysterious ship headed for a Void rift. Claining to be scavangers looking for profit, a voice told them they weren’t welcome aboard and they should go away. Ignoring the request, the group found an empty docking bay that was exposed to space and landed.

After Dash got the door open and Avery and Thorn found a Sith insignia on a dead body, they headed in further to explore the ship and find the force artifacts aboard.

The interior of the ship was damaged, though it was unclear what had caused the damage. It could be anything from fire, to hull integrity compromise from a battle, to a giant blast and lightsaber battle. While exploring, they came across a droid that had been transformed and was stuck in the floor, large horns growing out of its frame. The droid wanted to die, and so Rust Bucket obliged and blew it away.

Eventually they came across a giant room holding crates full of dirt, seeds, and manure, along with a massive door. Dash went to work trying to break through the door while Avery set up a barricade, which turned out to be a good idea because just minutes before Dash got the door open, a sith and his forces showed up!

A battle ensued against sith, man, and beast! During the battle Avery was hit by an unknown dark side power, possibly damaging her in more ways than just physical, while Dash lost his leg to the sith’s mount!

With their foes defeated, Thorn tried his hand at medicine and managed to stop Dash from dieing, however he has lost much blood and is badly wounded…

Will Dash live through his injuries?
Who was the Sith and why did he bubble and melt after dieing?
What power hit Avery and what are its consequences?
Who and what else is on board this mysterious ship?
Will they be able to find and recover the force artifacts?
Will anyone learn that fulminar can fly and so you need to aim up when trying to hit Arani?

Session 5 - The Swok and the Buothi

Arani,
Avery, and Thorn sought help to save their comrade Dash. The encountered the Swok, a group of furred aliens with sharp teeth, who offered their aide. Unfortunately, Dash was to be the main course in a feast prepared for our heroes. While his leg was cooked up, the rest of the party managed to subjugate the entire village through force. While negotiating, Thorn assassinated the chief of the village after Dash asked him to. Avery used her murrbil Ris to keep Dash alive.

Journeying towards where they sensed the force artifact was, the come upon the Buothi, a tribe of horned red skinned humanoids. An old Buothi known as Doctor helped Dash recover and told them the history of their land. They then had a feast with Chief, the leader of the village, who explained how their society functioned.

Negotating for the force artifact Chief wore as a necklace, it was agreed that he would turn it over to them in exchange for access to the outside world (the rest of the ship), through the opening of doors. He also warned that a great Event was coming soon and so he couldn’t journey with them in search of more.

Leaving the village, the group found the second main door into this part of the ship lead to no atmosphere. Moving on, the group found a smaller human sized access door, which Dash was able to open. A long hallway stretched out before the travellers, and they said their farewells to the Buothi and continued their hunt for the force artifacts and a way to stop the ship from entering a Void of the ancients.

What will our heroes find down the hallway?
What of the other Sith forces aboard the ship?
Will they be able to stop the ship from entering a Void from which no one has ever returned?
And why didn’t anyone try that delicious Dash Pollard Leg soup?!

Session 6 - Dead Sith and Thermal Detonators

After coming across Gran Murkmire’s audi log and dealing with a sith alchemied cleaning droid, the group continued to explore the mysterious ship.

Heading in the opposite direction from before, they came across a pair of sith working to disable a shield that protected a force artifact. Fighting broke out before negotiations could continue, and soon Dash was held hostage!

As negotiations continued, it was agreed that the Sith would release Dash in exchange for being allowed to leave. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, but just as Dash was to be freed, the echani must of sensed something wrong and tried to free himself. He was rewarded with a lightsaber to the neck. His last words were, ‘I regret…everything’.

After the fight was over one sith slicer was held captive and Thorn took it upon himself to take the deceased belongings.

Obtaining the force artifact, which connected to the other piece they had gathered earlier, the group journeyed to the locked elevator. After channeling force into the artifact and sliding it into its keyhole, the elevator activated, granting them full access to the ship.

Deciding that going into the Void was a worse case scenario, the group headed to Engineering – Engine Room, where they encountered a Trandoshan in apparent hibernation or stasis on the ground. After multiple attempts, the Trandoshan finally awakened. He shook the dust off his body and informed the group he’d been sent by Aza to gather force artifacts. He also seemed to know everyone’s names…

With the help of the sith slicer, they managed to disable the engines. This stopped the propulsion of the ship, however, they still only had two more days before it’d enter the Void…

Avery and Thorn headed to the Medical Rooms, where they paid their fees for medical treatment and encountered 21BFXGH7MEV. She offered to perform the surgery Avery needed in exchange for payment of her services. She also recognized B1 / Rust Bucket, and was surprised that he was an acting ambassador with the humans. After the operation, she went with them both to meet up with the others.

Discovering an armory location onboard the ship, the group headed their to gear up for what they feared was a fight against the Sith Lord Darth Nomai. Thorn, acting a bit impulsively, blew open a weapon storage locker which triggered alarms through the ship. Soon, Sith forces lead by Nomai and Darth Venator arrived.

Battle ensued, but ended abruptly when a thermal detonated atomized a large portion of the battlefield. This was untimely, as it went off just as Ginexia and a squad of Droideka Mark II’s showed up. Kressht was left badly wounded, the outer layer of his skin being atomized by the blast, while 80% of Ginexia’s body had been atmoized. All of her Droideka’s were destroyed as well, and the sith slicer was caught up in the blast.

21BFXGH7MEV went to help Ginexia, but was convinced to first help the near death Kressht, (after taking payment). Now that the sith threat is apparently over, the group thinks of what and where to go next…

Will Ginexia’s body be able to be restored?
What happened to Darth Venator when Thorn blasted him to death?
Why are Ginexia and 21BFXGH7MEV’s appearance different from other droids?
Will they be able to stop the ship before it travels into the Void?
What of Gran’s warnings about other forces?
What else will they find about the mysterious ship?

Session 7 - Decisive Illusions

After some squirming around by Thorn and some duel force using of a R2 unit, the group managed to get ahold of another elevator that was functioning. Kressht received medical aid from 21BFXGH7MEV, though he was charged accordingly.

Heading to the Central Control Room, the group found ASP19B1ELITE, E19S19DP2G2GD16ECH, a Droideka MK2 and three battle droids waiting for them. After some tense words, they agreed to work together.

ECH was working on the central command console, attempting to get the engines back online so they could change the mysterious ships course. After Kressht took a look as well, it was found the prior engine section the group had shutdown would have to be brought back online.

Two ancient force artifacts were detected in this area, one being a half gold like object that was wired into the mysterious ship, and the other supposedly powering the ship itself.

Thorn and Kressht headed down with ECH to conduct repairs on the engine room. After arriving they were set upon by a cloaked figure who, after bringing five more like him into the room, demanded they leave.

Gathering reinforcements from the bridge, the entire group along with ELITE and ECH returned to confront the foe. Arani folded space with Thorn, who threw a grenade at the lone figure that refused to allow them safe passage out of the elevator. The resulting explosion left the figure unharmed and on fire, while the power relay behind him was damaged.

Some more shots fired exposed the figure as an illusion, and the group, minus ECH, ELITE, and the R2 unit, went to hunt down their enemy.

After a long series of hide and seek, the group came upon their enemy, a dark side corrupted entity that resemebled less of a man and more of a spider. They dispatched their foe after taking minimal damages, though the creature acted as if he had achieved his goal by delaying them.

Kressht stayed behind to help try and bypass the damaged power relay and get the engines back online. A task made harder because someone had run a lightsaber through the wires and ciruits underneath the main console.

Arani, Avery, and Thorn headed back up to the bridge where they examined the gold colored artifact. After some quiet words, they headed down to see how MEV and Genixa were doing, and to have Arani’s wound looked at.

MEV informed them that in order to have a chance of saving Ginexia, they’d need that artifact that was wired into the command console. Arani and Avery left MEV know they had the other half, more or less, and the droid said that if they had it whole, Ginexia’s recovery was almost guaranteed and that she’d owe them quite a lot.

The three of them got back into the elevator, where Arani and Avery seemed determined not to let the artifacts fall into droid hands, while Thorn explained that their original mission was to help the droids in this situation, not sabotage their efforts.

After a lot of debate, the group fell silent as the elevator traveled through the mysterious ship towards the central command room…

  • Will the group decide to let the droids keep their artifact(s) and allow MEV to put it in Ginexia?
  • Was the dark side corrupted monster telling the truth about buying enough time for the Seekers of Truth?
  • With only a full day and some change left, can the engines be brought back online before the mysterious ship enters the void?
  • What will happen if the artifact is removed from the command console?
  • If he’s telling the truth, how did Kressht supposedly survive his last trip through the void?
  • What other mysterious lay aboard this great ship?

Session 8 - We Got Death Star

Reaching the bridge, Arani, Avery, and Thron explained to B1 about needing the artifact for Ginexia. The droid took the artifact from the central command console and brought it down to the medical bay.

21BFXGH7MEV explained she needed both halves of the artifact to be sure that Ginexia would recover from the horrific damage she’d received. Reluctanly, Avery handed it over.

Linking the artifact to the remains of Ginexia, force power surged around the droid as her body reassembled itself. While her armor was formed during this surge, her weapons didn’t return.

While alive, she still seemed to be malfunctioning from her prior damage, or it may be the force artifact inside of her causing the issues. Whatever the case, it was decided that stopping the ship from entering the Void was top priority.

Having restored power to the main engine room, Kressht and E19S19DP2G2GD16ECH headed back to the central command console.

A debate about who would control the Mysterious Ship between the droids and Avery, Arani, and Thorn had commenced, leaving it more or less up in the air.

After the central command console was reassembled, Ginexia plugged herself in, only to start screaming and convulsing. Acting quickly, Avery and Arani investigated the ancient power artifact located beneath the floor. Acting more on hope than knowledge, the two ripped the artifact from the ship, which suffered a massive power failure, but stopped whatever was happeningto Ginexia.

The ship however was sturdier than believed, and power came back on its own without the aide of the artifact, however, it was operating far below normal efficiency. A section of the Weapons Relay room was to blame.

After more debating, it was agreed to allow the group to take the power artifact for safe keeping, likely because Ginexia and MEV were grateful they’ handed over the artifact to save Ginexia’s life.

Heading down to the Weapons Relay, the group came across a force user who folded space to escape them. He’d left behind a trap to murder them as they came through the main doorway. After some searching, it was determined the foe had gone beyond their senses and they should continue on their course to the Weapons Relay room.

With Thorn scouting ahead, the group discovered a Death Star plugged into the inside of one of the main Weapon Relay chambers. This is what was needed to restore full power to the Mysterious Ship.

Finding the Death Star locked and wanting to keep it intact, they asked E19S19DP2G2GD16ECH to come help them get through the doors. Well on the way, a message was relayed to the group from the central command station. One informed Kressht of his massive debt, while the other was from Grand Duke Vekis Meraska, who knew of Gran Murkmire. He offered the group riches in fortune in exchange for their ship, but no agreement could be struck.

Kressht and the droid managed to open the first door, only to find a large squad of Sith Training Droids guarding the interior.

After being asked multiple times, ASP19B1ELITE sadly ordered the droids to stand down rather than fight them. The inside of the Death Star was one massive tomb. Dead bodies lay about, decaying for decades or longer…

Making their way to the power generator room, the group encountered a man encased in carbonite. Freeing him, he said his name was Anakin Skywalker and that he was grateful for their help. It seemed he’d been trapped in the carbonite fo more than a hundred years…

Helping the group get the power to the Death Star back online, Anakin then told them they should go and wake up his father Sheev.

Eager to be on his way, Anakin headed towards the nearest lift, the rest of the party following.

  • Who is this strange force user who claims to want to help them?
  • What was the mysterious foe that tried to kill them on their way in?
  • Is Venator still lurking in the shadows waiting to strike the party yet again?
  • Is Sheev here to help or hinder the group, and what are his plans?
  • What of Grand Duke Vekis Meraska?
  • What of the Seekers that are supposedly even now on board the Mysterious Ship?
  • Will they be able to stop the ship from entering the Void?

Session 9 - Big Bada Boom

After receiving word from 21BFXGH7MEV that the Seekers ship had landed, the group convinced Anakin Skywalker to leave his farther Sheev for now and head to deal with the imminent threat.

The group dropped off E19S19DP2G2GD16ECH and one of the artifact of the ancients, informing everyone not to touch it lest it bond with them or the ship. They then headed down to the docking bay where the Seeker ship had docked.

Scouting ahead, Thorn and Kressht took out two guards silently before calling the others up to their position. A brief survey of the area left no easy way in, so Kressht decided to take a garbage shoot and work his way back up into the docking bay to spy out the territory.

Meanwhile, the group explored other bays, finding a cloaked ship in one, likely belong to The Gamlord Society. Pretending not to notice in hopes of gaining information, they set a comlink up near the door so the sound of it opening would be transmitted across their comlinks.

Kressht built a ladder of garbage and got himself up through the shoot, allowing the group to make a plan of action to take out the Seekers of TRUTH that were stationed there.

The ambush commenced, leaving the Seekers dead and some of the group a little bruised, but success was had. However, the inside of the ship was full of a dark penetrating force, and so it was decided to blow the ship up from the outside rather than risk the darkness.

Meanwhile, the sound of the other door opening and closing came over the comlink. Thorn and Kressht stayed behind to work on explosives while Avery, Arani, ELITE, and Anakin went to check on it. Grand Duke Vekis Meraska reached them on their comlinks, congratulating them on being able to find his ship, cloaked as it was.

He informed the group that his own people were exploring the Mysterious Ship now, and in fact he knew of the other forces as well. A few Seekers were still at large in the Gigadrive engineering section, likely trying to active it and get into the Void despite the ships course correction. There’s a large force in the Weapons Relay area that seems capable of Folding Space.

After the exchange of information, Anakin demanded they go and check on his father, worried that the forces in the Weapons Relay area may be aboard the Death Star. Avery and Arani tried to convince Anakin that they needed to wait until the others had finished their job with the explosives, but Anakin would not be deterred.

After denying him three times and walking away, Anakin pulled out his lightsaber and attacked Avery. Unable to perceive where he would strike, her leg was cut off before she could truly defend herself. Arani began force choking the enraged so-called Jedi, but couldn’t do enough to slow him down as he ripped Avery’s pack from her back.

Taking the pack, which held the elevator key, he walked away. ELITE, wanting to help, surged her way into Anakin, knocking the pack from his grip, partly in thanks to Arani force gripping him as a distraction, and the two flew into the elevator. Working quickly, ELITE jammed her lightsaber into the elevator door controls, as Anakin screamed in rage and channeled force lightning through the droids body. The door closed to ELITE’s screams of pain…

Grand Duke Vekis Meraska appeared out of nowhere, and told Avery everything was going to be all right. Meanwhile…

Kressht and Thorn had finished setting a timer on their explosives. As they ran, one of the spider deformed Seekers intercepted them. A vicious battle was had, during which Kressht was deeply wounded from Force Rending, but they managed to defeat the evil creature.

Dragging Kressht’s body as time ticked away, Thorn called for Arani’s help, who Folded Space twice to get to them and then Folded Space out of the docking bay just as the explosion went off. Decompression occured and the three were forced to take shelter in the docking bay that held the cloaked Gamlord Society ship.

  • What has happened to ELITE and Anakin inside the elevator?
  • With Avery’s leg chopped off, will her Striking Looks be enough to get the Grand Duke to help her?
  • Was the Seeker ship destroyed by the explosion?
  • What of the other Seeker forces trying to use the Gigadrive?

Session 10 - Fancy Royalty and Space Folding Sith Faces

Avery and Grand Duke Vekis Meraska hid from Anakin Skywalker as he emerged from the elevator in which ASP19B1ELITE had trapped him in. With the help of the Grand Duke’s cloaking technology and Avery hiding he jedi powers, they managed to avoid detection.

As Anakin moved to leave, a large force of sith, led by a cloaked woman later identified as Dashara Dinniz, told Anakin that his father required his presence. Anakin, already hostile from the prior encounter, choked Dashara to make sure they were going where the cloaked figure claimed. The group folded space and disappeared.

Meanwhile, Thorn, Kressht, and Arani sought help from The Gamlord Society’s cloaked ship. It took time, but eventually one of the most beautiful people the group had ever seen appeared in a hologram before them. After some negotiating and a laying down of arms, Queen Marab Gestahl agreed to help heal the wounded Kressht, using technology no one had ever seen before.

Avery and Vekis found ELITE on the brink of death in the elevator, Anakin having lightninged her greatly when the droid did her best to stop Anakin from his rampage. Avery quickly used Force Trance to try and save the droids life.

Vekis informed everyone over coms of the current threats aboard the Mysterious Ship. Seekers of TRUTH were holed up in the Gigadrive room, a large number of Sith were aboard the Death Star with Emperor Palpatine, and the Buothi hadn’t left their habitat.

Deciding getting Avery and ELITE medical aide was top priority, the group met up with 21BFXGH7MEV on the medical floor. Due to her amazing healing abilities seen only in the days of the great healer Owen, she was able to reattach Avery’s leg. She then replaced Thorn’s eye for a highly upgraded model. Afterwards, she went to work on ELITE, informing everyone it’d be best if she wasn’t disturbed as the droids chances of survival were unknown.

The group headed back to Central Command where they were told of incoming messages. A massive Sith fleet was enroute to The Unnamed Station, which was woefully unprepared for such an assault. Ginexia, the group, and Vekis negotiated about the destination of the ship, and who will take control of it once all was said and done.

After lengthy negotiations, it was agreed that if The Gamlord Society would help in the upcoming battle, they would be allowed to keep the Mysterious Ship for themselves. A course was set for planet Droid, where Ginexia would use the Ancient’s Artifact to save the dying planet and bolster her forces for the upcoming battle against the sith fleet.

A sith folded space into Central Command, leaving behind a grenade which Kressht courageously leapt upon! However, it turned out to be a hologram transmitter. Emperor Palpatine addressed the group, opening negotiations for how they could proceed together in the future. Avery told Kressht to destroy the transmitter, and the Trandoshan did so.

The group prepared for the inevitable battle, Thorn directing people to strategic locations, Arani meditating in the force and seeking help using her inherent Fulminar telepathy abilities.

Anakin, Dishara, and a large group of Sith forces folded space onto the bridge and a battle of lightsabers, blasters, and vibrodaggers began! Outnumbered, the group and their allies managed to fend off most of the attackers, however during the struggle the Ancient artifact Kressht used as a weapon to bash in a sith’s face was lost, Dishara having stolen it by folding space.

Anakin lashed out with devastating power against everyone. Hoping to surprise him, Kressht leapt at Anakin to grapple him to the ground. Unfortunately, Anakin was too fast for the Trandoshan and received a lightsaber through the heart for his efforts.

Avery pulled out her beloved pet murribl and sacrificed its life in order to save the Trandoshan. It’s death healed the hole in Kressht’s chest, bringing him back from the verge of death.

Arani, having spoke to a distant, faded voice during her prior attempts at contact, found the familiar voice of Rancor speaking inside of her mind. Begging for help against the immensely powerful Anakin, Rancor appeared on the bridge, slightly hunched over due to his size, and held Anakin in the air for an easy target.

Before the rampaging fallen Jedi could be killed, his father appeared, holding MEV and ELITE hostages. The group reluctantly allowed Anakin to leave in exchange for their lives. As the sith forces folded space away, ELITE fell to the ground, her fate still unknown…

  • Was MEV able to save ELITE, or did the sith interrupt her during the process?
  • What of B1 who was supposed to be guarding them?
  • How will the heroes deal with the looming threat of the Emperor and Seekers of TRUTH?
  • Will Ginexia and The Gamlord Society keep up their ends of the bargain upon reaching Droid?
  • What will Rancor have to say about all of this?
  • Will Kressht jump on more hologram transmitters to save everyone?
